Man is a naturally inquisitive creature and throughout the ages he has sought out the answers to questions not obviously apparent. Man has searched for those people with special qualities and abilities to foretell the future.
Divination is as old as man himself. In the beginning, the clan’s shaman used articles from nature to predict life, death, pregnancy, health, hunting, crops, and battles with rival clans. As we became more “civilized” the methods of divining the future became more civilized and complex.
Tarot originated in Italy as a card game and evolved into a tool to predict the path that a questioner should take. There are hundreds if not thousands of Tarot decks that can be found; some for specific kinds of questions, some with specific themes, and all rich with symbolism for the practitioner to use in reading the message they convey.
Most important when a reader is choosing a Tarot deck is how the cards “feel” to the reader. Do the cards speak to the reader and do they feel a certain something with that deck. Regardless, or despite, of the artwork the cards have to have meaning for the reader.
